Essentially. The play is what interests them, the phrase let's them know they can join.

You can have a division if you promise to ONLY use deagals.

You can advertise until you're blue in the face, but until we become a name that people want to be associated with, it won't do much.

NNG doesn't look for people who want a powerful name, that's not who we are. NNG wants people who just want a group of friends to hangout with a frag a few. We advertise as a community and not a clan or a team for a reason.

I think this is just a case of choice of words. I think hospi was saying that having a rep that reflects the community that we are would be a help in recruitment. Look back at all the apps we would get in the ps2 days and there would be people referring to the good things they heard about us that made them want to look into joining us.

SON OF A...I just lost 5 minutes worth of typing. Anyways: the heart of what I wrote was:

Recruitment should be as simple as gaming with people and if we like their teamwork, sense of humor, and (to a far lesser importance: their skill) then we invite them to our forums and to sign up. Pretty simple and effective. The biggest thing that we need to do as a community is to be on the lookout for people who match up with our sense of community and fun.

As for "all equal" I like it. My only fear is that without a "leader" then it can get fuzzy. Ghost, you have always been the leader. Even when you were "gone" because of RL I always felt my loyalty ran for NNG because of the respect I had for you and the group you assembled. I don't expect you to throw your weight around because it's just not your style (though you make hard decisions when you have to) but there's nothing wrong with having a figure head. It gives comfort to know that even though we're all equal, there is "leader" who can step up when/if things go south. I compare it to my position. I have 1,500 people who look up to me. I run meetings, events, and other functions with people feeling comfortable to step up and do what they want. But when things go south? They know that I'm there to step up and do what needs to be done. And they respect me for that (both for being a macro-manager and also "the guy" when they need it). Those are just my thoughts.

Thats how I run my little recruitment ship called "The Padiddle." Really all we do after they sign up is run them through a short review period of a week of so to make sure they are a fit then I kick them off The Padiddle onto the island know as NNGeopia! (Unless they are a bad person, then they get kicked off The Paddidle into the ocean. We only had a small few who were turned away and that was always either inactivity during the trial period or that they were too young.)

Kowlefe...I never knew you were a poet =) Instead of kicking them off of the Padiddle, can we bring them to NNGeopia and sacrifice them in active volcanoes?

I like the notion of active volcanoes.
