Are you getting a login error? at main menu or launcher won't start the .exe after pressing the play button?

The main menu error is NAT settings preventing you from accessing login servers.

    Star marine hum.

It's one of those things which have potential, but needs work. A decent amount.

So let's go over some of that.

Gun selection is pretty sparse in star marine, which for basically an alpha is okay..
The sniper rifle I haven't used much but the maps promote more of a close quarters engagement so there's not much point to me using it.
The shotgun has too many range issues for me to use effectively.
I find myself favouring the ballistic rifle, mostly due to the power and accuracy of it.
I don't like the laser rifle, but I can see the advantage of it: No reloading is a thing.
You also carry grenades. By the way, no grenade indicator.

Movement feels a little slow, but that's on purpose because you're wearing armour. Incidentally in the current iteration, (Admittedly I played it back in 2016 december) there's little point to light armour than being a little faster and getting yourself killed faster too.

Time to kill is rather high, we're talking like 10+ bullets. I'm still confused as to how the damage model works since from the game's presentation it makes no sense. There's limb damage and you can bleed out but you carry medkits to help out with that. It makes it such that I don't know actually how much health I have, or should I say makes it difficult to say how much I can actually take. From an immersion standpoint yeah sure, but it irks me somewhat.

There's some lacking information as well, like what firing mode my gun is in. I have no idea actually, bar wasting some rounds.
The game mode is pretty much like battlefield's control points except you have to interact with the points to grab them. Also, there's a few things about zero-g maneuvering but the alpha maps are bad for that, it isn't really showcased. You can zip around faster from what I've seen.

The bugs are really annoying, like being unable to fire your main weapon without switching fire modes, or your hud radar not displaying.

Apparently you're also supposed to be able to lean or some such? There's a few things.

It shows promise and basically shows me that a squad of us from planetside could stomp through a capital ship like mad-men

What, do you want me to run a completely suicidal mission with a group of NNG peeps straight into the depths of the nearest capital ship, steal it and ram it into the next nearest one?

    I'll totally do it.

We're just going to need a ton of grenades

Sneaky? I'm not sneaky. Devious perhaps but squad sneaky? Not really. :D
Also I mean taking a thing and ramming a thing isn't sneaky.
Though then again a lot of the EVE guys are really dumb. I mean really dumb.
