A few weeks ago I watched some animes recommended to me after watching attack on titan. I know that there is a few people around here so I thought that some people would be able to recommend me some new ones. As an example of what I enjoy watching, this is what I have watched so far and liked; Attack on Titan Sword Art Online (1&2) Log Horizon (1&2) (Thanks for the recommendation Sotet, was a different to what I seen and good) Psycho-pass (1&2) Knights of Sidonia At the moment I am looking for other shows that are similar. I am only looking for shows with 40-50 episodes max as I currently have no interest in investing in shows with 100+ episodes and the lower episode number keeps out filler and allows for good pacing. I also am enjoying watching english subbed versions, so any show recommended doesn't have to be dubbed, I'd prefer if it wasn't to be honest as english dubbing usually takes something away from the show and its' stories. If you know anything close to what I have watched and what I am looking for, write them up here please and thanks. Edit: I am aware of animelist but wanted to see what people here would say
Have you tried watching Fairy Tail? Its not ass dramatic as those, its a bit more comedic but has its intense moments later on, but I love it.
yeah the manga is relatively new though if you want do naruto it just finished after like 15 years of running
Only about 20 or 30 episodes are in English to my knowledge and they're on Netflix if you want to watch it that way.
I am looking for a one to two season show at the moment, not looking for a long running series. I prefer anime in original japanese with subtitles as it reflects what's going on much better than english dubs do at times. I once watched attack on titan in english and japanese and the dialogue lines were completely different throwing off the show tone.
Sounds like you're on the fantasy route so I'd recommend some of these: Full Metal Alchemist Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Trigun Samurai Champloo Madoka Magica (I'm sorry, it's full of little girls, but Hospi and I will attest that it is really dark and deep D: ) Cowboy Bebop Avatar: The Last Airbender The Legend of Korra Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) .hack series Ghost in the Shell Angel Beats Baccano! Hellsing Ultimate Freezing Full Metal Alchemist both in their original and Brotherhood forms follow a similar story until about halfway. That's where the story branches off into different outcomes because the original ran out of material to follow. As a result, Brotherhood follows the original manga in terms of their storyline. I've watched both and I gotta say it's a good series to get into. While Avatar and its sequel aren't really considered anime, I'd probably recommend it anyway since it would be in line of your current pursuits. I've only seen .hack//Quantum, but from what I've seen it's really good. But I'd probably approach each set of .hack similar to watching Gundam because each one varies. Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing and Baccano! are series I would highly recommend watching in English because I feel the dubbers actually manage to get the tone and the feel right for the series. I remember reading an article one time where a producer for Cowboy Bebop actually said you should go watch it in English instead! I like these better in English since the voices actually enhances the environment and tone of the series. I would take care about watching Freezing because the first season actually has a lot of sexual themes and are not afraid to show boobs. Freezing Vibration actually censors this heavily though... Most of these can be found on Netflix, but you can always find a lot of these subbed online.
I bookmarked a few of those to watch later, thanks. Thankfully, none of them are too long like I wanted. There were a few I wasn't interested in from reading the plot and settings, mainly the ones too focused on high school. I saw avatar before and wasn't drawn in so I'll skip it.
Berserk Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal (the start of a much larger series, but it's an OVA so it can be watched alone) Black Blood Brothers RWBY (not an anime, but very good nonetheless)
