It's on boys and girls. Tonight at 11:00 Central Time I get to play Battlefront for the first time (minus the closed Alpha and open Beta). I'm super-psyched. I just hope I get a chance to log on (stupid bills and forms to fill out...I hate moving). For all those other super cool people out there who know what's good I look forward to seeing you in the next couple of days as we shoot those dastardly imperials or crush those pesterful rebels.
I can't even force myself to watch streams of this game for more than 3 minutes. Another $60 saved Any more thoughts or feedback about the game?
I personally love it. It honestly feels like you're actually in the movie! It is much more about tactics (setting up firing lanes and advancing) and less about sniping (since none of the weapons are really great for that). Don't get me wrong, I'll play BF4 on occasion but I really enjoy Battlefront a lot. The one thing I wish they could work on is the squads. You can only have one "partner" (someone to spawn on) and the other play in your squads show up in green...that's the only real difference. It makes it a bit harder to work together that way. Other than that I think the game is incredible.
I've really been enjoying it so far. It does lack a little bit of depth, but until I do get everything unlocked I have plenty to do.
From what I've seen of reviews and what impression I got from playing the beta, it seemed fun but extremely shallow and not something I could really justify spending $60 on for the most likely <40hrs I would spend playing it. It did look and run great, just seems very bland all in all. If a bunch of people start playing or an excellent deal could be found, I might pick it up.
I like that they developed the gameplay and build a good game. But the map count is too low. 6-8 starting maps should have been fair. I'm not going to go full nostalgia and claim battlefront 2 was the best game evar!!!! But it had a lot of good things going for it, and the map and game mode variety was one of them. The variety is unfortunately lacking in this battlefront from what I've gathered. So I would not purchase without a deal on it with the season pass bundled and 2-3 map packs released so I have more content once I start playing. I had fun in the beta, but eventually stopped because it all just seemed to get old quickly as there wasn't enough change between games. And I don't think that having a slightly higher number of maps in rotation will bring enough variety to a night's gaming for me.
Just your friendly potato dropping in to play some battlefront with my NNG's I was reluctant at first but finally pulled the trigger and am so glad I did! I'll be on TS just poke me to play
