    I live right along the Mississippi and see these things constantly. They are tall but to see the wing spawn on these things is something else. Looking up and seeing these things doing circles over your house is pretty freaky...I think one was contemplating picking me up one time=-)

    Edit: On a more serious note. I remember seeing Sparrowhawks around my house when I was younger before there nests were destroyed and they were pretty big. I can't imagine what one of those eagles is like.

    I feel the need to clarify...My house is technically not ON the Mississippi...it's two blocks away. But I will give free wagon rides to the water and we can all ride the La Crosse Queen (it's a paddle boat...I'm trying to forestall the comments before they start). We'll glide down the majestic Mississippi as my literary hero Samuel Clemens. Oh what times we'll have...
