The Recursion RTST, favorited by popular streamers due to its depth and quality of stats provided, has updated to a beta version of an in game overlay, sanctioned by the developers. In other words YOU WILL NOT GET IN TROUBLE FOR USING IT. It is an awesome tool, and I encourage all of you to download it and try it out. It brings a whole other level of enjoyment to the game.

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

The team has been working on this in pretty much all of our free time to get this release tested, debugged, and polished enough to be ready for a wider audience. We've done what we can to find problems, but please keep in mind that this software is still beta, so bugs will likely still exist, and we want you to find them. We will be releasing frequent updates to fix any bugs you guys may encounter, as well as enhancements (we will be focusing now on getting in some additional achievements).

    What does this app do?
    • It allows you to monitor yourself and any other player in real time
    • Track the session statistics of that character, with a very detailed kill/death graphical kill board
    • Review up to last 1000 historical events for that character (massive historical kill board), and an infinite number of real-time (session) events
    • Provide vocalized arcade style achievement vocals (Motivated by Unreal Tournament, Quake, Duke, and various other games) in real-time based on what you do in game, recorded by Radlock himself
    • A detailed graphical stream overlay to show your stats, kill/death history, and achievements in real time
    • And much much more
This was built to provide features to different game styles and needs in mind, and to enhance your experience even if you don't stream or care about statistics.

What do we want you to do?

If you give this a try, we would appreciate if you take the time to provide your feedback to us, as we are currently planning what features we enhance or work on next right now, on top of fixing any bugs that may arise.

We just updated to 0.9.0.1 to fix a few issues we discovered.

N/A kills will count toward achievements again.
Piloted ESF kills should now tally correctly.
    Corrected description for ESF achievements.

    In-Game Overlay
We are excited to announce that we now have a basic in-game version of the overlay available. Achievements and kill-streaks will now show up in the game through DirectX! We'll be making a ton of improvements and adding a lot more to this in the future.

A hotkey (defaults to tilde ~) is used for displaying a stats screen similar to pressing Tab for scores. If you use tilde for something else, make sure you remap it if you plan to use the overlay by going to Tools -> Options -> Configure -> Stats Hot Key.

    Requirements
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 Runtime is required. This will automatically be installed upon activating the D3D overlay.
    2. You must have RTST open and be logged in prior to starting PlanetSide 2. An achievement message will show up in PlanetSide 2 when a connection is first established.

    SOE Reviewed
This process works the same way Mumble does. We've been working with SOE on making sure we do this right. They have taken a look at it and have given us permission to release it publicly (thanks Higby).

    New Achievements
    - Road Kills are now back and should not be awarded if your dead vehicle kills someone now.
    - Air to Air kills are now tracked with progressing rewards (4 total). These are the old ESF achievements. Non air to air ESF achievements have been merged with the old liberator achievements which are now Air 2 Ground rewards.
    - Decimator achievement have been updated to be more accurate.
    - Achievement "Pizza Delivery" added when killing a manned vehicle with a tank mine.
    - Achievement "Fly swatter" added when killing a manned ESF with a tank main weapon (not sky guard).
    - Achievement "Iced" added when killing a number of player with an ice weapon.
    - Achievement "He's on fire" added when killing a number of players with a fire work.
    - Achievement "Care bear stare" added when killing a number of players with the Lancer (we couldn't help it).
    - Negative Achievement "Nice things" added when suiciding a gal or sundy that has a bunch of allies inside (slaughtering them).
    - Achievement "Shoot the needle" added when killing a drop pod.
    - Achievement "Kamikazi" added when ramming a hostile to death with an ESF, killing yourself in the process.
    - Achievement "First Blood" added and awarded if you kill a player within one minute of you coming online.
    - Monitors players that go offline within 10 seconds of killing them, and awards the "Rage Quit" achievement when they do.
    - Awards "Submission" achievement if someone Rage Quits after you've killed them at least 3 times.

    Other changes
    - Added audiable indicator when monitored player comes online or offline

    Bug Fixes
Added better handling to joining threads to prevent possible lockups.
Fixed a potential crash issue when killing N/A players on your own team. (Welcome to PlanetSide, right?)

I tried to use it and it never worked. If you can get it to work its cool but after 4 hours of fiddling and trying to get it to work I said fudge it.

I installed it. But I can't get it to overlay with planetside. I'm getting no kill notifications and no visual overlay while I am playing.
