Today's Outage

So hypothetically if it WAS RCON causing the problem, would that mean that there was a corrupted file and you would have to re-intall all the plugins individually and basically re-do the server's preferences. I have worked with RCON and servers before but only with Counter-Strike Source server's and FTP; not real familar with BF servers, just trying to understand and learn.

 

Rcon, or rconnet which we use for BF3 has prebuilt and centralized plugins only released by the owner of the service.

We would basically have to go in and check some boxes to re enable all the ones we wanted and tick a few more boxes and options within each of them to get back to where we were. It's easier than the old rcon days of CS and easier than using Procon, but it would still be a bit of work to get it back to norm.

 

Gotcha.....yea CS rcon couldn't even be described as easily as you just did that hahah!

 

We are sorry for the delay and inconvenience. There have been additional reports of such issues at the end of a map from a number of different locations. It appears as if there may be some connection issues with/between the master server due to side effects of the weather issues on the east coast of the US that are resulting in server crashes. I'm afraid there isn't anything specific we can do besides wait for connections to stabilize. If there are any adjustments we can make we will apply them automatically.

But it sure sucks to know that you put in all that work just to have it be something that was out of your hands anyways orestes. But the effort you put in sure is appreciated all the same
