Some lucky gamers over at GameStop received early copies of the Back to Karkand Official Strategy Guide by DICE, which contain the overhead views of each of the new maps along with its variation of gameplay modes. Without further babble, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I knew it...maybe its just these pics but this greatly frustrates me, they scaled the maps down to accommodate for console players, those flags should be WAY further apart

and seriously? the took like half of karkand off and made it part of the dead zone? that whole complex over the bridge is supposed to be playable....jesus what have they done

Sooo looking forward to this, Gulf of Oman was my all time favourite map in Battlefield 2 and this is just what was missing in Battlefield 3!

Same here. Looks like they actually put the carrier somewhat far out into the ocean which is great. There was nothing better than hauling ass in with the F35, skimming the water, dropping a bomb then skyrocketing up. Sooo many good memories :D

Oman is by far one of the best level designs in the Battlefield history !

Open up the gulf of oman file, and look way to the right. There is a small city there. I don't understand why ALL of that map is not opened up. WHY???? JUST GIVE AN EXPLANATION DICE< AS TO WHY YOU MAKE SMALL ASS MAPS!!

Project Reality for BF2, in its early days, that was one of the first things they did, opened up all of Gulf Of Oman, because it had a fully modeled small city down in the right, and great open desert to the top and left for tank battles. WHY is it so limited in its stock release? So stupid.
