Wouldn't mind playing air soft. I know a decent amount of members live around the NYS area.

I started 4 years ago and I've enjoyed every bit of it (except one woefully terribly run event I travelled to last summer and won't return to. But that's an exception). Great game and a great community too. Always a few laughs to be had every day out.

If you hit someone they die and must respawn. One hit and you are out. Ricochets do not count and friendly fire counts.
Yesterday we mostly had infinite respawn and instant respawn. This means that when you are hit you walk back to a spawn area covered in the briefing and touch a wall and you are back in. Some games you must wait a minute or so before you can leave the spawn.
To win a game you usually have to capture or hold an objective within a time limit. It depends on what the organisers have in mind while they are giving the briefing.

For example, the other day we had one game where we had limited lives and were defending a case which sets off an alarm when opened. We had to defend the bombsite until the enemy got to the case or time ran out.
In another game, we all had infinite respawns but had to control 1 of 5 ammo boxes scattered across the rooms in the building. Only one of the five boxes would win the game and we would only know after time ran out.
Other games I have played have been that one team must retrieve as many flags as possible from an enemy occupied village, so you must infiltrate the village, retrieve a flag and escape without dying. If you die you drop the objective.

Not gonna lie, this sounds fun as all hell. Do you play in old unused building or mock villages?

The site near me has an old factory they are using about once a month. It has a big open hall and corridors of offices all around it and upstairs. There isn't many full mocked up villages. A couple of outdoor sites have some one storey buildings but nothing too fancy.

MOUT facilities would be like a village but they are more common in US or UK. Some sites that hold airsoft actually are MOUT training facilities. Airsoft and military and law enforcement training can actually all benefit from the same site. Some businesses now operate for training on weekdays and allow airsoft once a month or on weekends. Ireland does not have the demand for a dual run site. But the quality of airsoft sites is improving every year with more and more places using realistic sized buildings and cover.
